Assignment #4 Empathy
Empathy is the capacity to recognize emotions that are being experienced by another sentient or fictional being. One may need to have certain amount of empathy before being able to experience accurate sympathy or compassion.

International PSA
Emotion: Negative-dangerous
Idea: Drunk and accident
Concept: Used broken beer glass bottle to represent an accident where drunker drive a car and hit the street lamp.
Rationale: This PSA, don't drink and drive campaign to remind the drivers don't drink beer while driving. It can cause an accident either injury or death. By using tagline "what's the price of a bottle of beer", meaning that we are unable return our worthy lives back after what happened.
Local PSA
Emotion: Negative-irresponsible
Idea: Pregnancy woman, foetal injury, smoking
Concept: A pregnant woman touch her tummy and can see through the foetal was filled by poison that represent smoke of cigarette and it can cause foetal injury.
Rationale: this PSA from National Cancer Society Malaysia campaign shows that smoking by pregnancy woman can cause foetal injury where give a bad risks to foetal or baby. By avoiding smoking it will help health development for baby itself.

Assignment #3 International and Local TVC
International TVC-Nolan's Cheddar
Nolan's Cheddar, with the tagline "seriously strong" and "award winning cheddar since 1859" won the 2010 Best TV Advertisement Award. This TVC directed by UK film director, John Nolan.
Idea: Strong and Tasty
Idea: Strong and Tasty
Concept: This TVC shows a mouse that can't stay away from the Nolan's Cheddar by eating that cheese and plays on the trap until he become a victim to the spring arm. A mouse become stronger after eating that cheese and he battles back with the trap. This TVC used three different songs to relate with the scenes, Top of the World by The Carpenter's, The End by The Door's and Eye of the Tiger by Survivor's. For the opening shots they used a real mouse and for the rest they used animatronics technique, which is robot made covered in silicon.
Local TVC-Astro
Idea: Knowledge
Concept: This TVC shows a guy his name is Loh Hock Keong with low self-esteem. Nobody noticed him because he lack of knowledge. He looks small at their eyes. One day, he find an enlightenment by watching Astro and from that moment he get respect from everyone. He become from zero-to-hero.
Local TVC-Astro
All Asian Satellite Television and Radio Operator or known as Astro is the brand of Malaysian direct broadcast satellite and pay TV service. It transmits digital satellite television and radio to households. This TVC promotes Astro, where with Astro "knowledge makes your life richer."

Assignment #2 Creative Idol
Looks like Malaysia has lost a talented person and its so hard to grasp the fact she has gone. She has inspired many people including ME. Her creative and brilliant idea you can feel when watch her TV commercials and films, sometimes will bring tears to your eyes. She is the late YASMIN AHMAD.
In the golden era of Yasmin Ahmad she is a film director, scriptwriter and executive creative director at ad agency, Leo Burnett Kuala Lumpur. Born in Kampung Bukit Treh, Muar, Johor on 7th of January 1958. She graduated in Arts majoring politics and psychology from Newcastle University in England. Yasmin Ahmad began her career in advertising as a copywriter at Ogilvy & Mather before she moved to Leo Burnett in 1993.
Her TV commercials and films are well known in Malaysia. Her sentimental TV commercial for Petronas that deliver universal message of love and compassion by homour sometimes pathos. While her films focus on romance between different ethnic and religion, touching on issues of parental abandonment, gender discrimination and etc. Her creative works have won awards in international and Malaysia.
To me, she inspired me through her creative work and brilliant idea to produce a masterpiece. She also proved to everyone that love and joy is what we need to make the best visual in the making an advertisement. Other that that, she also reminded us the little things that we take for granted. In her own unique way, she taught us what is love, respect and unity.

Assignment #1
Advertising is necessary to business in order to promoting their product or service to consumer. No matter how great its your product or service, without advertising your consumer doesn't know how to find it and how the products going to get to the consumer. In a short time, your business will not successful.
Advertising using media as a medium to create attention among the consumer by advertise the product or service such as television, radio, newspaper, magazine, billboard and etc. It can be categorized as a promotional strategy that will help to sustain the business in the market. Other than that, message is delivered to consumer using through appropriate medium.
